Zoe Teasdale, Berkson Family Law Solicitors
I was impressed by Sarah Cook in an appeal because she’d done a very good skeleton argument and made well-organised, clearly structured and sensible submissions. She dealt with my questions very well, had a really attractive manner in court and good judgment about when, and when not to ask questions.
Recorder, Minshull St Crown Court
Sarah Cook supported me with C100 court hearings, covering three key issues; living arrangements, the child's surname and their school. She had a fantastic holistic understanding of the case, knew its strengths and weaknesses, and prepared strong counter arguments. The outcome was a joint 'lives with' order alongside a double barrelling of my child's surname.
Anonymous, Public Access Client
Sarah Cook is meticulous in her preparation, not just in terms of the submissions but also in terms of her strategy to influence the best outcome. I would never have achieved what is a dream outcome without her knowledge and extensive skill set. She is absolutely amazing.

+ Notable Cases
- N v K (2021): Sarah Cook represented a father in his application to spend time with his daughter. The mother was opposed to contact and breached all orders made by the court in her efforts to prevent contact taking place. The court made an Interim Care Order due to the failure of the mother to meet the child’s needs and the father changed his application for the child to live with him. During the final hearing, Family and Finance Barrister Sarah Cook cross examined the mother, Social Worker, Psychologist, and the children’s guardian. The father was successful in securing a transfer of residence for the child to live with him.
- O v S (2021): Sarah Cook represented a mother in her application for a ‘Live with Order’, the mother not supporting contact between father and children. Difficulties arose due to the mother’s failure to attend hearings, the court expressing a concern the mother is hostile to contact. In conference the client opened up and informed that she had been groomed and raped by the father as a child, impacting her engagement with proceedings. The mother was successful in the Finding of Fact Hearing, all allegations of grooming, rape and violence proven and a No Contact Order was the end outcome.
- M v M (2022): Sarah Cook represented a father in proceedings before a circuit judge in which he was accused of sexual offences against children. She dealt with the six-day Finding of Fact Hearing, in which no allegations against him were proven. This case required a good understanding of criminal procedures to address the evidence.
- E v F (2021): Family and Finance Barrister Sarah Cook acted for the child in a case where a father was accused of sexual and physical harm against a child in concurrent public and private law proceedings.
