+ Notable Cases
  • N v K (2021): Sarah Cook represented a father in his application to spend time with his daughter. The mother was opposed to contact and breached all orders made by the court in her efforts to prevent contact taking place. The court made an Interim Care Order due to the failure of the mother to meet the child’s needs and the father changed his application for the child to live with him. During the final hearing, Family and Finance Barrister Sarah Cook cross examined the mother, Social Worker, Psychologist, and the children’s guardian. The father was successful in securing a transfer of residence for the child to live with him.
  • O v S (2021): Sarah Cook represented a mother in her application for a ‘Live with Order’, the mother not supporting contact between father and children. Difficulties arose due to the mother’s failure to attend hearings, the court expressing a concern the mother is hostile to contact. In conference the client opened up and informed that she had been groomed and raped by the father as a child, impacting her engagement with proceedings. The mother was successful in the Finding of Fact Hearing, all allegations of grooming, rape and violence proven and a No Contact Order was the end outcome.
  • M v M (2022): Sarah Cook represented a father in proceedings before a circuit judge in which he was accused of sexual offences against children.
