The Court of Protection is where property, finance and welfare decisions are made for individuals who lack the mental health capacity to make decisions for themselves.
Proceedings related to the welfare and rights of vulnerable adults, children, carers, and family can have life-changing consequences and are often complex. As such, Court of Protection cases require experienced representation with an empathic, pragmatic approach to achieve outcomes that are in the best interest of the vulnerable person.

Kenworthy’s Court of Protection Barristers
Chudi Grant has experience advising and assisting clients who suffer from mental ill health in criminal proceedings, mental health review tribunal cases and related issues of health and social support and civil claims arising from clinical or professional negligence.
Janet Cragg represents clients detained under the Mental Health Act and nearest relatives applying for discharge or opposing displacement applications in the County Court and at Tribunal and Hospital Managers hearings.
Stephen Tettey acts for mental health patients, not only in relation to issues of compulsory treatment in mental health review tribunal proceedings but also in matters that involve a criminal defence angle.
Nadia Sarwar practices in the area Court of Protection and deals with applications relating to deputyship, general welfare issues. Nadia represents local authorities and litigation friends, including the Official Solicitor.
Edmund Farrell’s extensive knowledge of Family and Finance and Property Law makes him in a strong candidate to advise on issues that arise from cases before the Court of Protection.
Paul Im Thurn accepts instructions in the Mental Health Tribunal and Court of Protection. He has considerable experience assisting clients with mental health problems arising out of disability, acquired brain injury or mental ill health.
